What are you working on right now?
I actually just finished moving in! I’ve been focused on construction and moving my studio of 20 years, but I just made some concrete pieces for my new “Artifact” series. I also have two small commissions I am working on and 3 proposals for public work. I plan to continuing with my cast container and monument series which are all concrete work. My new space is the largest I have ever had, so I plan to make larger work. Stay Tuned!
What would you like to say about Manufacturers Village Artist Community?
I have wanted to be part of this amazing community for a couple of years now and have been looking at spaces here for over a year. I feel very lucky to finally find a space that is perfect for me and my concrete work-Ground floor with concrete floors and lots of light! The building is old and has wonderful high ceilings. I love the space, and the community of professional artists is large and supportive. I know and respect so many of the artists here and am proud and happy to be part of this community. I am looking forward to participating in future community events, especially the studio tours when we can see people in real life without masks and laugh and look at art together.
What's next for you?
I am excited to have been awarded a solo exhibition at the Monmouth Museum as part of their Emerging Artist series. It opens in February, so I am making new work for that. I have a few other irons in the fire, so we will see what evolves from those proposals. I have two exhibitions happening right now, the Arts Annual at the Morris Museum, and “Heliotrope” online with ArtFront Galleries. I am looking forward to all the opportunities coming my way.
