What are you working on right now?

We were quarantined and I began teaching online. Following the final months of my spring semester, I found solitary time for contemplation and experimentation with new work.

That new measured pace allowed me to search harder and take risks; looking for the meaning of the human condition in relationship to nature, abstraction, and materiality.

What would you like to say about Manufacturers Village Artist Community?

On December 15, 2006 I signed a lease for a 3500 square foot space on the second floor of a historic factory in East Orange, NJ. My intent was to develop a community of working visual artists at Manufacturer's Village. We began with 7 artists and have grown into a vibrant community of over 40.

This year our studio tour will look different, it is a month long "virtual" tour acknowledging the challenges of this unprecedented time. This is an opportunity for the community of East Orange, supporters and patrons of the arts, students, family, and friends to join us for an enriching experience in a safe and responsible way.

What's next for you?

This fall I am fortunate to be teaching painting to talented and engaged students at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.

Due to the pandemic, a scheduled solo exhibition is on hold, I will continue my studio work, writing, volunteer work, and hope for a better future.
