What are you working on right now?
For now I’m working on smaller pieces that I can easily transport from studio to home & back again so that I can continue to work if there is another shutdown or if I’m self quarantining!
I’m working on small cut paper collages of landscapes exploring simplified shapes and color ideas. I’m also integrating some embroidery on top of small paintings on fabric and fabric alternatives like Evolon and Encautiflex.
What would you like to say about Manufacturers Village Artist Community?
Being part of this artist community has been an inspiration for me to keep on exploring my art making. I can feel the energy the moment I walk into the building. Just knowing that there are other artists working nearby makes me feel like I belong to a large creative family.
What's next for you?
The pandemic has basically put my exhibition career on hold. I do have a piece in the “Personal Landscapes” exhibit at the Montclair Art Museum that has been extended through November. I am exploring a lot of new ideas at the moment and will think about showing the “fruits“ of this time period in the future.
