Michelle Kurlan Schneider is a multidisciplinary artist who works with watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, and clay. A lifelong learner, she focuses on hand-built ceramics, channeling her fascination with organic forms into sculptural and functional pieces. By examining nature's patterns, including microscopic life and aerial landscapes, she captures them in unique ways. Michelle holds a BA in Art Education and Studio Art from the University of Maryland and an MA in Studio Art from NYU. She has participated in various shows and received residencies from Chashama. Michelle juried the first CraftMasters show at Studio Montclair, and her work has also appeared in numerous Studio Montclair exhibits from 2019 to the STATE OF THE ART 2025 exhibit. In 2023, her work featured in Hudson Guild’s 75th Anniversary exhibit and Evening Star Studios' SEEING OTHER PEOPLE exhibit. In 2024, she exhibited at Heidi Gallery’s COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS and WAE shows, as well as Stars in the Arts’ TOGETHER and RESILIENCE exhibits. In 2025, Michelle won Best Mixed Media Work at the Gaelan Gallery’s Juried Show, and exhibited at Stars in the Arts’ 77 – TIME OF GROWTH AND PURPOSE, Heidi Gallery’s WAE 2025 and Spiro Harrison & Nelson’s UNRELATED exhibits.
