Edward Fausty

Edward Fausty is a photographer and printmaker who enjoys paper and pictures on paper. He began photography as a child. As a college student in a pre-medicine program, he had a visionary experience and turned to photography as a serious life-long vocation. Deeply influenced by his immersion in color with Joel Meyerowitz at The Cooper Union School of Art and ink printing with Richard Benson at Yale School of Art, his direction and evolution over the decades has integrated these, resulting in numerous distinct but concentrated bodies of work In all these projects, some quite experimental, ink and paper have played an important role.
Fausty’s work is represented in such collections as The Canadian Center for Architecture, The George Eastman House, The U.S. Library of Congress, Pfizer Corporation, Yale University and others. He has exhibited work at Princeton University (Atelier Fellowship for ATLAS with Accra Shepp), The Woodrow Wilson School also at Princeton,The Brooklyn Museum of Art, Gallery Bi Damas in Japan, Paul Sharpe, DM Contemporary and Carter Burden Galleries in New York City, The World Theatre Festival in Nancy, France, and Inquiry Art Gallery in Boonton, New Jersey. The series Next Frontier has been featured in solo exhibits at the Hunterdon Art Museum in Clinton, NJ, the Lewis K. Meisel Gallery in New York City, and the Visual Arts Center of NJ. Fausty has also received NYFA and NEA fellowships working with Brian Rose on a project documenting Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
